INTIMACY INTENSIVE

We are often asked about the process of Intimacy Directing. What are the rules? What is the route into becoming an ID/IC? We aim to answer these questions and to provide an all round understanding of INTIMACY. 

WHO IS IT FOR?
Performers, Movement directors, up and coming IC's, Theatre makers.
WHAT IS IT?
A comprehensive 3 day course. In a series of 6 workshops, participants will be guided through the process of performing intimate and evocative scenes. Starting with preparation and entering the room, moving to rehearsal and performance and finally saying goodbye to the role.

Nudity riders - How to read and use them
Modesty garments
How to advocate for yourself in the room
How to support fellow actors
What to expect for theatre verses on set
Actor wellbeing - Preparing and De-Roling 
Working with triggering text and character disclosures
Workshopping in rehearsal room scenario
Emotional verses Technical Storytelling
A mix of lecture and practical exploration. 
No participant will be expected to perform or take part in any practical aspects of the course unless they are entirely comfortable.
Models will be used in demonstrations.

OUTCOME
Participants will have the tools and techniques to identify personal boundaries, prepare for the role, ensuring they can confidently face the challenges of Intimate performance.
