Weapon in a Weekend
Industry recognised, bite sized training designed to make you a skilled, capable and confident combatant!
Who is it for?
For students new to the BADC or who have a Standard Level Unarmed Certification.
Under the new modular training system introduced in 2020:
All weapon systems now require a minimum of 20 hours training.
To consolidate to a complete Standard Level you need 2 weapon systems: Unarmed and Standard Level Sword.
You can take these weapons systems certifications separately and you have 2 years to consolidate to Standard Level.
If you have taken a Standard Level under BADC Emergency COVID Measures (2 sword systems) you need Unarmed as part of progression towards Intermediate status.
You will be working towards performing a choreographed fight within the context of a scripted scene. This course focuses on the fundamental skills required to perform convincing violent action when armed with a rapier.
You will be required to engage in close contact work during this course and depending on regulations this may require you to be masked.
