Ruth Cooper-Brown
Ruth has had a wide and varied career to date. First training in Theatre she began her fighting career 17 years ago as Maid Marian in Historical Entertainment. An invaluable experience, which introduced her to the tricks of the trade through a world of knockabout, illusion and circus side show. All this combined with working back stage in theatre and onstage as an actress has informed, and still influences her present work as a Fight Teacher, Fight Co-ordinator and member of the BADC committee. |
Rc-Annie’s Work
Rc-Annie is a Fight Company comprised of two Fight Arrangers and teachers Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown. We choreograph fights for Stage and Screen, provide trained fighters, stand ins and Mo Cap artists. We also train performers and teach BADC affiliated qualification courses.

RACHEL’S USA RAMPAGE
Wow. I've had a fantastic 10 weeks in North America. I was completely overwhelmed by the generosity extended to me from the people I was visiting. The practitioners I met opened their homes, classes, rehearsal rooms and minds to me, I am eternally grateful to everyone I met i North America especially Allen Suddeth, Lloyd Caldwell, Dan Levinson and the guys at Rapier Wit, John Lennox, Michelle Ladd, Dale Girard, Bob Goodwin David Woolley, Babes with Blades, Dom and Jess Green and Richard Gilbert. I have learnt so much and can't wait to incorporate this into my own work and development. I have many ideas of things I want to explore I will be using the fighting form classes on a Monday night to start this process.
Come and play see below for details.

THE STAGE
Recently Ruth was asked to create a guide for the use of Theatrical Handguns for the Stage Management Assoc which then led to them writing an article for the
The Stage newspaper featuring Rc-Annie. To read the article click on the following link below

What Rc-Annie has been doing since its inception in October 2005
We have been busy with a mix of professional, independent and educational projects. We have worked for several prominent London and Welsh Theatres such as The Garrick Theatre, The RSC at the Hampstead Theatre, Theatre Clywd, The Bush Theatre, The Roundhouse, Wales Millennium Centre - The Weston Studios, Trafalgar Studios, The Sherman Theatre, The Barbican, The Donmar, and The Shaw Theatre in varying roles from weapons and effects advisors to action choreographers. We have worked on the following notable films to be released in 2010, the musical ‘Summertime’ with Tornado Films and ‘Half Hearted’ Fortune Films & Ascension Productions also the music video ‘Spaceman’ will be premiered at ‘Cannes in a Van’ this year. The Internet Release Fan Film ‘The Hunt for Gollum’ has now been downloaded by over 2 million viewers!
Our Corporate work includes Alton Towers the Pirates of Mutiny Bay and Swashbuckling aboard the Golden Hinde on London’s Southbank.

“Particularly impressive is the main battle scene - there are hardly any of those awkward moments where enemies politely queue up to be slaughtered which one often sees in big budget productions. Instead we get something which, for all its limitations, feels visceral and real, the final one-on-one encounter being particularly ugly. This film delivers real thrills…”
